HOW IT WORKS

We are a slow fashion brand, which means we only sew orders once they are placed. This means you might have to wait a little longer than you are used to when we are busy, but we believe the overall positives make it absolutely worth it!

Here is a detailed run through of our whole process for those of you that are curious

1. You place your order

You choose your favourite style, your size (maybe with a custom note), and check out.

2. We add your order to our sewing queue, and then add it to our cutting list
We print all the orders, then update our sewing queue and cutting list a few times a week, depending on how many orders have been placed.

3. We cut your orders
We always try and batch as much as we can at all stages of the process. Cutting a few pieces at once in layers is always much faster, and we try and do this when we can. We cut orders with our cutting machine, rotary cutters, and sometimes just old fashioned scissors. This always depends on the fabric and how many we are cutting at once.

4. Then comes overlocking
After batches have been cut they go in a trolley and get wheeled over to the overlocking and babylocking machines. Again we batch as much as we can so that we don't have to change threads too often, but let's be honest 90% of what we make is black so this isn't a big problem!

5. Everything gets sorted into their order numbers
After overlocking we divide everything into tubs according to their order number. We have separate tubs for different colours, and also for our most popular styles like the Sabrina and Nancy.

6. We sew in order
We have a whiteboard in the sewing room so everyone can see what orders we are up to, and from here we balance sewing in order, and batching when we can. This is the stage where we sew our elastic trim, straps, bows and lace trims.

7. Finished pieces go to the order shelf
Once each piece is finished they are crossed of the whiteboard, and join their order print out in the next room.

8. Your order is wrapped and shipped
Once the order is complete everything is wrapped in tissue, packed with postcards, and sent off to you, who has been waiting so patiently while sew!
